Microsoft Teams file sharing and membership controls by channel type


Sites in Microsoft Teams allow Yale University individuals and external partners to be members. Membership and file sharing behavior can differ based on the type of Channel being used in a Team, however, and also extends to the Channels underlying SharePoint site.

Teams sites and associated channels do not allow that Anyone with the link (unauthenticated access by anyone with the link) option by default due to security concerns. If you need this capability steps to request it are given below.
