Requesting a PIN for a Sponsored Identity (SI) with an active NetID


Overview

For any Sponsored Identity that did not have a PIN requested, once the SI has been created, the Sponsored Identity (SI) sponsor can request a PIN using the steps below.

To Request a PIN for a Sponsored Identity 

  1. Navigate to the Generate PIN Request form.
  2. Enter the NetID of the Sponsored Identity in the 'Requested for' field. The name, email (if there is one associated with the account), and phone number will populate in the form.
  3. Check the box in the next field to send all notifications regarding this request to the "Requested For" person.
  4. Enter the requested start date for the PIN to be available for the Sponsored Identity to activate their account.
  5. Enter a business reason for the request
  6. Read the following statement: University Policy Information
    • ITS requires identification verification prior to providing a PIN. This is a security measure for your benefit to ensure the authenticity of the requester in an effort to prevent potential misuse of NetID passwords.
  7. After you have read the statement above, check the box to acknowledge that you have confirmed the person requesting a PIN is the rightful owner of the NetID the PIN is being used for.
