Box at Yale: Secure Box Mobile Device Pinning


Mobile Device Pinning is a feature that allows Box at Yale administrators to control the number and type of devices you can concurrently have set up to sync files from your Box at Yale account.

 
Secure Box is configured by ITS to allow each person to pin up to 7 devices to their account, as follows:
Once any of these limits are reached, you will continue to be able to access your Secure Box account with any compatible web browser from any compatible device, however you must request to unpin your devices to enable any additional devices to access your Box profile with the Box app for mobile devices or Box Sync.
 
To pin a device:
A device will automatically become pinned to your Secure Box account upon login from a supported Box app. This does not include web browsers. 
 
To unpin a device:
Once you have reached your device limit, you will not be able to pin any more devices, even if you uninstall the mobile Box app or Box Sync desktop application from one of your devices. If you want to access Secure Box from another device (using the Box mobile app, or the Box Sync desktop app), you'll need to request to unpin your current devices. As a result, after unpinning is complete, you will need to re-login -- in the Box Sync application, or in the mobile Box app -- on all devices that you're using with Secure Box.
