Important Points

Yale requires devices connecting to the University network to be registered to associate the device with a member of the Yale community.   

• Students need to register devices yearly.  
• Faculty and Staff needing a device connected to the network should contact their IT Support Provider to ensure their device is given a permanent registration.
• Connecting to the YaleSecure wireless network does not require registration.
• YaleSecure is not compatible with gaming systems because it requires WPA-2 Enterprise authentication.
• You will need to complete a separate registration for each of your wired and wireless network connections.

Register your device

1. Determine the hardware or MAC address for each connection on your computer or device. There is usually one for wireless and a separate one for a wired connection.
2. From a computer that has Internet connectivity, visit the NetReg website and register your device following the onscreen instructions. 
3. You will be able to connect to the network a few minutes after the registration process is complete.
