Make a Call

  1. Lift handset or press the Speaker and wait for a dial tone
  2. Dial the telephone number you wish to call.
  3. If you have a display telephone, the number will appear on the display window.  

Answer a Call

  1. Lift handset or press Speaker.
  2. Hang up the handset or press button to end conversation.

Call Transfer

To Activate:

 

  1. With first party on the line
  2. Press Flash
  3. After hearing the special dial tone
  4. Dial the extension number
  5. When the third-party answers announce call 
  6. Hang up (call is transferred automatically)
  7. If you receive no answer, busy signal or misdial
  8. Press Flash to be reconnected to party

Conference

To Activate:  

    1. With first party on the line
    2. Press Flash
    3. After hearing the special dial tone
    4. Dial the second party
    5. Talk in private
    6. Continue until all parties are connected
    7. When you are ready to let first party into the conversation
    8. Press Flash again
    9. Speak to first party (all telephones are connected)
    10. If you received no answer, busy signal or misdial
    11. Press Flash to be reconnected to party.   

Conference for YALELINK (764-xxxx)

To Activate:

  1. With first party on the line
  2. Press Flash
  3. After hearing the special dial tone
  4. Dial 115
  5. You will hear a second confirmation tone.
  6. Dial the second party.
  7. Talk in private.
  8. Continue until all parties are connected.
  9. When you are ready to let first party into the conversation,
  10. Press Flash again,
  11. Speak to first party (all telephones are connected).
  12. If you received no answer, busy signal or misdial,
  13. Press Flash to be reconnected to party.
    Note: dial 115 only after depressing FLASH for the first time.

Consultation

To Activate:

  1. With first party on the line
  2. Press Flash
  3. After hearing the special dial tone
  4. Dial the third party
  5. After speaking in private, when the third party hangs up you will be connected automatically to the original party
  6. If you receive no answer busy signal or misdial
  7. Press Flash to be reconnected to party

Mute

  1. Press Mute to speak without the person on the phone hearing your conversation.
  2. The Mute Indicator will light up and remain lighted until you resume your conversation.
  3. Also, MIC MUTED will show in the display.

To resume your conversation 

  1. Press Mute.
  2. The Mute indicator will go out and your call can continue.  

Hold

To Activate 

  1. With caller on the line
  2. Press the Hold button.
  3. Hang up.
  4. The Hold indicator will light and remain lighted until you resume your conversation.

 

To Return to Holding Party

Ring Again

To Activate

  1. Press Flash
  2. You should hear a special dial tone
  3. Dial 141
  4. You should hear the regular dial tone
  5. Hang up. 

To Respond  

  1. Hear short bursts of ringing.
  2. Lift handset (number is automatically dialed). 

To Cancel 

  1. Lift handset.
  2. Dial 142.
  3. You should hear the regular dial tone.
  4. Hang up. 

Call Pick-Up

To Activate

  1. Lift handset and dial 143.
  2. Announce yourself (you are automatically connected to the incoming call).
  3. If you hear a normal busy signal, the call has already been answered.
  4. If a fast-busy signal is heard, the ringing telephone is not in your call pick-up group, and you cannot answer the call.

Call Forward

To Activate:

  1. First obtain approval of party to whom you wish to forward your calls.
  2. Lift handset,
  3. Dial #1.
  4. After hearing regular dial tone, dial telephone number to which calls will be forwarded.
  5. Replace handset.
  6. Remember to cancel Call Forward when you return to your desk 

To Cancel 

  1. Lift handset,
  2. Dial #1,
  3. Replace handset. 

Voice Mail

  1. Dial the Voice Mail Access Number

<< or >>

  1. Press the Voice Mail button to retrieve message(s) from Voice Mail.
  2. Once you have retrieved the voice mail message the Message indicator will go off. 
  1. Press Menu until Voicemail Number appears.
  2. Enter the voice mail access number using the keypad.
  3. To delete a number or digit, press Review Down (large silver button).
  4. Press Menu to confirm selection.  

 Redial a Number 

  1. To redial one of the last 10 numbers dialed, press REDIAL.
  2. The display will show the last number dialed.
  3. To scroll through the last 10 numbers, press REVIEW UP or REVIEW DOWN (large silver button).
    Note that if HIDE REDIAL NUM was selected during setup only the first 8 digits of the number will be displayed. The entire number will be dialed out when REDIAL is pressed.
  4. After the desired number is selected,
  5. Dial the number by pressing REDIAL again
  6. Lifting the handset, pressing Speaker or pressing DIAL.
  7. The selected number (32 digits maximum) will be redialed.

Adjust Volume

  1. Press the Volume Up or Volume Down button below the keypad to achieve different levels.
  2. The volume remains the same between calls. It does not return to a nominal level.
  1. Press the Volume Up or Volume Down button below the keypad to achieve different levels.
  1. Press Menu until Ringer Volume appears.
  2. The default setting is 3.
  3. To alter press, Review Up (large silver button) to play the levels.
  4. Press Menu to confirm selection.

Ringer Cadence

There are 10 ringer cadences.

  1. Press Menu until Ringer Cadence appears
  2. The default setting is 3
  3. To alter press, Review Up (large silver button) to play the levels
  4. Press Menu to confirm selection

Pause Button

The Pause button allows you to insert a 3.6-second pause in the dialing sequence.

  1. Press Pause button and release at any point where a pause is desired.
  2. The Pause button can be pressed more than once to create a longer pause.

Headset Instructions

The headset jacks are on the right side of the telephone 

  1. This telephone will accept either a 2.5 mm cell phone-style headset or an RJ type headset.
  2. Use HEADSET to connect and disconnect from calls.

There are 3 contrast levels.

Release Button

Automatic Memory

  1. Press SAVE, [SAVE TO?] appears on the display window.
  2. Press the desired memory location. (M1-M5 or SHIFT M1-M5).
  3. [ENTER NUMBER>] appears on the display.
  4. Enter the desired number using the keypad (maximum of 24 digits). Press SAVE to confirm.
  5. [ENTER NAME>] will appear. Type the name (16 characters max.) using the keypad. Use REVIEW UP to add a space. Use REVIEW DOWN (large silver button) to delete a character. Press SAVE again.
  6. [SET VIP RING] will appear. Use REVIEW UP and REVIEW DOWN (large silver button) to select the desired ring cadence. Press SAVE again.
  7. [MEMORY STORING] will show briefly.
  1. Press the desired memory location (M1-M5 or SHIFT M1-M5)
  2. The number will be displayed
  3. To dial the number, lift the handset, press Speaker or press DIAL

Standard Set Terminology  

 

 

Power Failure Telephone: A charcoal gray standard set, which has access to an outside line, to be used only for essential communications during a prolonged power failure. This set has a yellow sticker on the front base that states: This telephone will provide dial tone during a telephone system power failure.

Dial the five-digit extension number: 5-XXXX, 7-XXXX, 2-XXXX, 3-XXXX, 4-XXXX, 6-XXXX, etc.
