In order to ensure you always have the latest security updates, please update your Zoom app on a regular basis. Follow these steps to update your installed Zoom app:
Yale Managed Computers
- Download the latest version of the Zoom app from the Software Center (Company Portal on MacOS). Neither administrative rights nor a reboot of the system are needed for this upgrade. Please close out of Outlook and Zoom before running the installation.
Computers not managed by Yale
- Launch Zoom
- Windows: Select the 'Windows' icon, search for Zoom, and select it to launch the app
- Mac: Open the search function (Command + Space) and search for Zoom. Find Zoom listed under 'Applications' then click to launch.
- Select the user menu on the top right
* If you don't see these options, you are likely using an old version and should uninstall the application and follow the directions to install Zoom again - Select Check for Updates.
- A notification will display that shows your current version of Zoom
- If you see Zoom is up to date, you are using the most current version
- If you see a message at the bottom that a newer version of Zoom is available, select Update. Neither administrative rights nor a reboot of the system are needed for this upgrade.

Smartphones
Zoom displays a mobile notification whenever there is a new update. We recommend you apply the update if prompted.
