Yale University ITS recommends everyone have at least two options set up for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). You can link multiple devices to your account, use your mobile phone, a landline, or tablet as your second factor device.

Enrolling your first device
- When you are initially enrolled in Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), you will be able to set up a device and download the app for Duo at mfa.its.yale.edu
- Log in with your NetID and password. It will detect you have no enrolled devices and begin the enrollment process exactly as in the enrollment email. Just follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
Enrolling additional devices
- Navigate to: mfa.its.yale.edu
- Enter your NetID & NetID password
- Complete Multi-Factor Authentication
- Click Add a device
- Choose an authentication device to configure
- Follow the enrollment wizard selecting the options you wish for the device type you are adding
Change the name of a device
- Navigate to: mfa.its.yale.edu
- Enter your NetID & NetID password
- Complete Multi-Factor Authentication
- Click Edit on the Device you would like to rename
- Click Rename
- Enter the new device name
- Click Rename
